Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile that is deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is rich in natural oils, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, skillfully regulating body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by hand by Iranian nomads using this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, offering a cool feel.
And, above all, there is its artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortions, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool dye may occur.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping

The pom-poms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
