Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feel.
And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imagined and created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile direction.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel. Then wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dye may occur.
The odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
