Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in daily life and feature long piles made from vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, essential for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant feel, rich in natural oils for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, using naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with significant day-night temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs are also known for being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dyes may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
