Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps with temperature regulation. Each Gabbeh is hand-woven with care by Iranian nomads, using this naturally dyed wool, resulting in a fluffy and comfortable feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, demonstrating its superior durability. Gabbeh rugs, born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, are also characterized by being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing a feeling of heat. And, of course, there's its artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. If stains are a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung-out towel or similar. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present. This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of it in advance.
Tassels can be removed before shipping

If requested, the tassels attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery. Removing the tassels will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the tassels removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
