Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in their daily lives, made from plant-dyed wool with long piles. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, allows for effective temperature regulation.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes, and then meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time. The result is a Gabbeh that is fluffy and pleasant to the touch.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
