Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content that helps with body temperature regulation.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes, and Gabbeh rugs, meticulously hand-woven one by one by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dyeing. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
