Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of oil to effectively regulate body temperature, resulting in soft and pleasant-to-the-touch fibers.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with significant temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing you from feeling hot.
And, above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, imagined and created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be placed on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Tassels can be removed before shipping.

If requested, the tassels attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the tassels will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the tassels removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
