Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture is rich in natural oils, allowing for effective body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads one strand at a time from this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, making them feel cool even in hot weather.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They are not only perfect for placing on the floor but also beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find a special Gabbeh rug that will be yours to cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung out towel or similar cloth. Afterward, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As such, there may be a unique scent from the dye used on the wool.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
