Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using plant-dyed wool as part of their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture with high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes and hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads, making Gabbeh rugs fluffy and pleasant to the touch.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool sensation.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imagined and created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the dye used for the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping

If requested, the pom-poms located at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
