Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically graze their livestock in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in their way of life, made from vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

As these are hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dye used on the wool.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
