Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Variant, possesses excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture due to its high oil content, which aids in body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, made by carefully hand-weaving this naturally dyed wool one strand at a time by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling.
And above all, there's their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, original item. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
