Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is soft to the touch with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads strand by strand using this natural dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel. A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, indicating its exceptional durability. Gabbeh, born from the climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling. And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can be used on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
