Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily life. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dyes used for the wool may occur.
The scent will gradually fade with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
