Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically herd in Iran's Zagros Mountains. They are made from vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, developed to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads strand by strand with this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme day-night temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool feel.
And above all, there's their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be placed on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find a special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dyes may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

If you prefer, the pompoms on the corners and sides of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pompoms to be removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
