Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content to effectively regulate body temperature.
The Gabbeh, hand-woven piece by piece with great care by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, is characterized by its fluffy and pleasant texture.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, demonstrating its superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also has the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And, above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, and each piece is a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, sweeping along the nap of the rug.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used for the wool.
The smell will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
