Features of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, handwoven by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in soft and pleasant-to-the-touch fibers.
Gabbeh, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously handwoven, thread by thread, by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant texture.
Properly woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, indicating their exceptional durability.
Gabbeh, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are also characterized by being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being handwoven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of handwoven items.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.

Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
