Features of Hand-Woven Persian Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are long-piled rugs, deeply rooted in daily life, and made from plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, developed to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads, are dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven strand by strand, resulting in a soft and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool sensation.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece with no two alike.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterward, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
As these are hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Tassels can be removed before shipping

The tassels attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the tassels will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the tassels removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
