Features of Hand-Woven Persian Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by hand by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are renowned for their superior durability, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs are also warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool sensation.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imaginations often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be placed on the floor or even displayed on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar cloth. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dye may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

The tassels attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the tassels does not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
