The turquoise used in this accessory is called Shajar, and it has a natural matrix pattern where turquoise and rock are mixed. Shajar means "tree with branches" in Persian, and the branch-like texture of the rock enhances the blue of the turquoise.

This is a one-of-a-kind original design by our shop, crafted by the famous Iranian engraver, Mr. Javaheri. Lezar Javaheri was an engraver who worked as one of the royal family's jewelers during the reign of King Pahlavi. While lecturing at the Tehran University of Fine Arts, he created our jewelry from 1990 to 2007. The delicate designs, tailored to the unique characteristics of each turquoise stone, further enhance the charm of the turquoise. The back of each turquoise stone is individually engraved with gold, matching the shape of the stone.

Characteristics of Natural Persian Firoozeh (Turquoise) Jewelry

This stone, once mined in Persia (Iran), reached Europe via Turkey, and the word "Turkish" became the origin of its name. Persian turquoise is a vivid, deep sky blue color, often called "the color of spring sky," and is a high-quality, hard stone. In fact, it was the first stone ever used by humankind as a protective amulet.

In Persia, it was cherished as the stone of the royal family for many years, and this Persian blue was also highly valued during the Victorian era.
Besides Iran, the best quality producing region, turquoise of different qualities is also produced in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other places. While a lot of American Arizona turquoise is brought into Japan, this Persian "Firoozeh (Turquoise)" is rarely introduced due to its decreasing production in recent years, making it very rare.

Since natural stones are used, please be careful not to let perfume, sweat, oils, etc. come into direct contact with them when wearing. Natural Iranian turquoise has high hardness and is less prone to discoloration, but in rare cases, the stone's color may change.
