This is a one-of-a-kind original design from our store, crafted by Mr. Javaheri, a renowned Iranian master engraver. Mr. Leather Javaheri was a skilled engraver who served as one of the royal family's jewelers during the Pahlavi dynasty. While also teaching at Tehran University of Art, he created jewelry for our store from 1990 to 2007. His delicate designs, tailored to the unique characteristics of each turquoise stone, further enhance its beauty. The back of each turquoise stone is individually engraved with gold, matching the stone's unique shape.

Characteristics of Natural Persian Firoozeh (Turquoise) Jewelry

This stone, mined in ancient Persia (Iran), made its way to Europe via Turkey, which is where the name "turquoise" originated. Persian turquoise is renowned for its vibrant, deep sky blue color, often called "the color of spring skies," and is considered a high-quality, hard stone. In fact, it was one of the first stones used by humanity as a protective amulet.

In Persia, it was cherished by the royal family for many years, and this "Persian Blue" was highly prized during the Victorian era. While Iran is the best-known source, turquoise of varying quality is also found in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other locations. Although American Arizona turquoise is commonly brought into Japan, Persian "Firoozeh (turquoise)" is rarely introduced due to its drastically decreasing output in recent years, making it a valuable and scarce stone.
