This is a one-of-a-kind original design by our shop, crafted by the famous Iranian engraver, Mr. Javaheri. Leather Javaheri was an engraver who worked as one of the royal family's jewelers during the Pahlavi dynasty. While also lecturing at Tehran University of Art, he created jewelry for our shop from 1990 to 2007. The delicate designs, tailored to each turquoise's unique character, further enhance the turquoise's charm. The reverse side of each turquoise is individually engraved in gold to match the stone's shape.

This stone, originally mined in Persia (Iran), traveled to Europe via Turkey, which is how the word "turquoise" (meaning "Turkish") came to be. Persian turquoise is of the highest quality, known for its vibrant, deep sky-blue color, often called "the color of spring skies," and its high hardness. In fact, it was the first stone ever used by humankind as a protective amulet.

In Persia, it was cherished as the stone of the royal family for many years, and this Persian blue was also highly valued during the Victorian era.
Besides Iran, the best quality origin, turquoise of varying qualities is also produced in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other places. Many turquoise stones from Arizona, USA, are brought to Japan, but this Persian "Firoozeh" (turquoise) is rarely introduced due to its drastic reduction in output in recent years, making it precious.
