This is a one-of-a-kind original design from our shop, crafted by the renowned Iranian engraver Mr. Javaheri. Leather Javaheri was an engraver who worked as one of the royal family's jewelers during the reign of King Pahlavi. While lecturing at the University of Tehran's Faculty of Fine Arts, he created jewelry for our store from 1990 to 2007. The delicate designs, tailored to the unique characteristics of each turquoise stone, further enhance the allure of the turquoise.

This stone, mined in ancient Persia (Iran), traveled to Europe via Turkey, which is where the name "turquoise" (meaning "Turkish") originated. Persian turquoise is renowned for its vivid, deep blue sky color, often referred to as "the color of spring skies," and is considered the highest quality stone with superior hardness. In fact, it was the first stone used by humankind as an amulet for protection.

For centuries, it was treasured by the royal family in Persia, and this Persian blue was also highly valued during the Victorian era.
While Iran is the best quality source, turquoise is also produced in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other places, with varying qualities. Although a lot of turquoise from Arizona, USA, is brought into Japan, this Persian "Firuze (Turquoise)" is rarely introduced due to its drastically decreasing production in recent years and its preciousness.
