This is a one-of-a-kind original design from our shop, created by the renowned Iranian engraver, Mr. Javaheri. Mr. Leather Javaheri was an engraver who worked as one of the royal family's jewelers during the Pahlavi dynasty. While also lecturing at Tehran University of Art, he created jewelry for our shop from 1990 to 2007. The delicate designs, tailored to the unique characteristics of each turquoise stone, further enhance its beauty.

Characteristics of Natural Persian Firuze (Turquoise) Jewelry

This stone, originally mined in ancient Persia (Iran), traveled to Europe via Turkey, which is where the word "turquoise" (meaning "Turkish") originated. Persian turquoise is known for its vivid, deep sky blue color, often called "the color of spring skies," and is considered the highest quality due to its hardness. In fact, it was the first stone ever used by humankind as a protective amulet.

In Persia, this stone was cherished by the royal family for many years, and this Persian blue was also highly valued during the Victorian era.
Besides Iran, the best quality source, turquoise is also produced in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other regions, with varying qualities. While much of the turquoise brought to Japan comes from Arizona in the US, this Persian "firuze (turquoise)" is rarely introduced because its production has drastically decreased in recent years, making it very rare.
