Characteristics of the Origin (Tabriz)
Tabriz is a city in northwestern Iran and a very famous and popular producer of rugs. It boasts a rich variety of designs and colors, and during the Safavid dynasty, it was even the capital of Iran. The oldest Tabriz rugs date back to 1500, and exports overseas began around 1900. Tabriz is home to many highly skilled rug weavers, and silk and cotton are commonly used as base materials for the rugs. Wool and silk are mainly used for the pile, and their weaving is characteristically very fine. The designs are diverse, including beautiful medallion patterns, traditional Persian Mahi designs, Gonbadi patterns inspired by mosque ceilings, popular floral patterns, and also famous pictorial designs. The color palette is also rich, with pastel shades often seen in rugs made of wool and silk. Thus, Tabriz rugs are highly recommended for their rich design and color variations.
What are Persian Rugs?
Persian rugs are carpets woven in Iran. They have a long history and are renowned for their beauty and durability, lasting for generations. They are one of the most outstanding examples of fine arts and crafts representing Iranian culture and art. Due to differences in design and materials used by region, Iran boasts a wide variety of rugs. These range from delicate and intricate designs woven in workshops to simple geometric tribal rugs woven by Iranian ethnic groups. The main materials used are wool and silk. Persian rugs possess a unique charm with their beautiful designs and subtle color palettes. By incorporating a Persian rug with its unique, one-of-a-kind appeal into your room, you can further enhance its ambiance.
Daily Care (Wool & Silk)
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If you spill drinks or other liquids, immediately absorb the moisture with an absorbent material (such as kitchen paper or tissue) and then wipe with a damp cloth.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, or dye variations. Please enjoy these as part of the unique charm of a hand-woven item.
