Characteristics of the Region (Shiraz)
Shiraz is a city in southwestern Iran, famous for its tribal rugs. Local ethnic groups hand-weave rugs using traditional methods, and these works are sold in nearby bazaars after completion. The pile of these rugs primarily uses wool, which brings warmth and durability to the entire rug. The center of the rug features designs commonly seen in tribal rugs, such as medallions and geometric patterns. Generally, a variety of colors such as beige, yellow, blue, and green are used on red and brown fields, giving the entire rug a rich color palette. Thus, Shiraz rugs are known for their warm designs and color schemes.
What is a Persian Rug?
A Persian rug is a rug woven in Iran. It has a long history and is famous for its beauty and durability, lasting for generations. It is one of the most excellent artistic handicrafts representing Iranian culture and art. Due to differences in rug designs and materials used depending on the region of origin, there is a wide variety of rugs in Iran. These range from delicate and intricate designs woven in workshops to simple geometric tribal rugs woven by Iranian ethnic groups. The main materials used are wool and silk. The beautiful designs and delicate color schemes of Persian rugs possess a unique charm. By incorporating a one-of-a-kind Persian rug with its own unique charm into your room, you can further enhance its ambiance.
Daily Care (Wool)
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If you spill drinks, immediately absorb the liquid with an absorbent material (such as a paper towel or tissue), then wipe with a damp cloth.
If you are concerned about stains: dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
As these are hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape, inconsistencies in weaving, and uneven dyeing. Please enjoy these as part of the unique charm of hand-weaving.
