This is a Persian hand-woven Gabbeh rug, sized perfectly for entryways, especially in larger homes. It will brighten up your entryway, a space you pass through every day. Besides entryways, it's also a convenient size for empty spaces like beside your bed or in front of a single sofa. It's soft, fluffy, and has a pleasant texture that can be used all year round. As a one-of-a-kind hand-woven item, you can enjoy a design that is unique in the world. This particular Gabbeh is woven with fine threads, making it a "Lizebaf Gabbeh" which is thinner than regular Gabbeh and has a denser weave, due to the extra effort required in weaving. Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool as part of their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content for effective body temperature regulation. This wool is dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, resulting in a Gabbeh characterized by its fluffy and comfortable feel. Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, demonstrating their exceptional durability. Born from a climate with large temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling. And above all, there's its artistic quality. Gabbeh created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original, one-of-a-kind item. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. For stubborn dirt: dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, uneven weaving, and uneven dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool, which may result in a unique odor from the dyes used. The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
