This Persian hand-knotted Gabbeh rug was custom-made to a special size to suit Japanese lifestyles.
It's the perfect size for an entrance mat, brightening up your entryway that you pass through every day.
In addition to the entryway, its versatile size makes it easy to place in other empty spaces, such as in front of a washbasin, on a balcony, or beside a bed.
It is characterized by a soft, fluffy, and pleasant texture that can be used all year round.
As each rug is hand-knotted, enjoy a unique design that is one of a kind.
This Gabbeh is woven with fine threads, and because it requires more effort to weave, it is a Luri-Baft Gabbeh, which is thinner than regular Gabbeh and has a denser weave.
"Luri" means "fine" and "Baft" means "weave" in Persian.

Characteristics of Persian Hand-Knotted Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled, hand-knotted rugs made by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their way of life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, along with a soft and pleasant texture rich in oils to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-knot each thread, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art.
Why not find a Gabbeh that you can use for a long time, a special Gabbeh just for you?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-knotted, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, uneven weaving, or uneven dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-knotted products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
The odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed upon shipment.
The pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish for the pom-poms to be removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
