Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture that contains a lot of oil to effectively regulate body temperature.

Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who hand-weave this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their soft and fluffy feel.

Daily Care

Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.

If you are concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

As these are hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.

Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dye used to color the wool may occur.

This scent will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
