Characteristics of Persian Hand-Knotted Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are long-pile rugs made with naturally dyed wool, deeply rooted in their way of life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, along with a soft and pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps regulate body temperature. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar cloth. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

As these are hand-knotted, there may be slight irregularities in shape, pattern distortion, weaving inconsistencies, and color variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-knotted rugs. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool, which may result in a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed upon request

The pom-poms located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping upon request. Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
