Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in soft and pleasant-feeling fibers.
Gabbeh, woven by Iranian nomads by hand, strand by strand, using this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from the drastic temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with no two being alike, making each one a unique original.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, dyeing inconsistencies, etc. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping
If you request, the pom-poms located at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
