Features of Persian hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-piled rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft and pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomadic Iranians who meticulously hand-weave each strand of this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung out towel. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilventilated shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight irregularities in shape and pattern, as well as weaving and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pom-poms can be removed upon request

The pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed and shipped in that condition upon request.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
