Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, everyday carpets handwoven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and possesses a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously handwoven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, showcasing its exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a wet cloth to remove detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being handwoven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of a handwoven product.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
