Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and features a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content that helps regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made by dyeing this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weaving each strand by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are renowned for their outstanding durability, said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are also characterized by being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece with no two alike.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but they are also beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape or pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool dyes may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

If requested, the pompoms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
