Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are handwoven using plant-dyed wool. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

As these are handwoven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of handwoven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
