Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomads, who weave them by hand using vegetable-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, which contains a lot of oil to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh woven by Iranian nomads, who meticulously hand-weave each strand of this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a sensation of coolness.
And above all, there is its artistic quality. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They are so artistic that they can be displayed on a wall, not just on the floor.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to the nature of handweaving, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dye variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of handweaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used for the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can also be removed for shipping.

The pom-poms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
