Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. These rugs are hand-woven from plant-dyed wool with a long pile. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil for effective body temperature regulation, resulting in soft and pleasant-feeling wool.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven knot by knot by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature fluctuations, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And, above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can, of course, be placed on the floor, but also hung on a wall as a piece of art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dye used on the wool may occur.
The scent will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can also be removed for shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request and delivered in that state.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
