Features of Persian Hand-Knotted Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are deeply rooted in daily life, hand-knotted by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture contains a high fat content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made by dyeing this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-knotted one by one by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing you from feeling hot.
And above all, there is their artistry. The Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also hung on a wall as art.
How about finding your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-knotted, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-knotted rugs.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of Gabbeh rugs can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
