Characteristics of Persian Hand-knotted Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who hand-weave them from plant-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high fat content for superior temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with significant diurnal temperature fluctuations, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And, above all, is their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-knotted, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-knotted product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Tassels can be removed before shipping

The tassels on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the tassels does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
