Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile that is deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and for its soft, pleasant texture due to its high lanolin content, which helps with body temperature regulation.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
