Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool as part of their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps with temperature regulation. Gabbeh rugs, handcrafted by Iranian nomads with each strand of wool carefully dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used on the wool. The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
