Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Varied wool used in this product, known as "Persian Varied," has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture with high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh, hand-woven one by one by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with drastic temperature changes between day and night, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing them from feeling hot.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but are also artistic enough to be displayed on a wall.
Why not find a special Gabbeh that is uniquely yours and can be used for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth or towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used on the wool may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
