Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, everyday rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomadic in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is soft and pleasant to the touch due to its high oil content, which helps regulate body temperature. Gabbehs are characterized by their soft and comfortable feel, made from such wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time. Well-woven Gabbehs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years. Gabbehs, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing them from feeling hot. And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbehs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece. They can be placed on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbehs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used to color the wool. The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery. Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us by email or phone below.
