Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads, who hand-weave them from vegetable-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and a soft, pleasant texture rich in oils to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile direction.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shade.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used on the wool.
Please note that the smell will gradually dissipate with use.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
