Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Variant, possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft, pleasant texture with abundant oils to regulate body temperature. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. If stains are a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

As these are hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the unique charm of a hand-woven item. Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool, which may result in a characteristic odor from the wool dye. The odor will gradually diminish with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, the pom-poms attached to the corners and sides of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
