Features of Persian hand-woven Gabbeh rugs

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile carpets hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using plant-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily lives. Daily care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung-out towel. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Notes

As these are hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please appreciate these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping

The pom-poms on the corners and sides of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
