Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who live in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile. These rugs are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product comes from sheep that have developed excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, along with a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils for effective body temperature regulation. The Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using natural dyes and individual strands of this wool, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, demonstrating its exceptional durability. Gabbeh rugs, born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, making them comfortable even in hot weather. And above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can, of course, be placed on the floor, but are also artistic enough to be hung on walls. Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven piece. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present. This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
