Features of Persian hand-woven Gabbeh rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically herd sheep in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content to regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made by hand-dyeing this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weaving each thread by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with drastic temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, giving a cool feeling.
And, above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a long time?
Daily care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
Pompoms can also be removed before shipping.

The pompoms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us by email or phone below.
