Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs

Gabbeh rugs are deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to their hand-woven nature, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving unevenness, and dyeing unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Tassels can be removed upon request

The tassels attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the tassels does not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
