Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool to create long-pile rugs deeply rooted in their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and is soft and pleasant to the touch, containing a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, indicating their exceptional durability.
Born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created by the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or cloth. Afterward, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye variations. Please be aware that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed upon request
The pompoms attached to the corners or mid-sections of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish for your Gabbeh to be shipped without pompoms, please feel free to contact us via the email or phone number below.
