Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and is rich in oils, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, adept at regulating body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, with their wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, when tightly woven, are highly durable and said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are also characterized by being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, and each one is a unique, original piece with no two alike.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug, a piece you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove any detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
As these are hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

If requested, the pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pom-poms to be removed before shipping, please contact us via email or phone below.
